Giochi di sponda. Una collezione di vetro contemporaneo
Opening October 8th
9.10 - 10.12.2022
every day 9:30 am - 5:30 pm
This exhibition tells the story of a collection established between 1990 and 2020 that is still unique in Italy in documenting the International Studio Glass art movement. The exhibition itinerary testifies to the work of 53 international artists with a corpus of 106 works in glass made between the 1950s and the present in Venice, as well as in academies and glassworks in Bohemia, in European research centers, and in the studio-furnaces of American, Canadian and Australian artists.
The collection reflects the friendship between a gallerist and a collector who have cultivated a shared passion for the city of Venice and artistic glass. It bears witness to an artistic practice resting on the encounter between free creativity and the rules of an ancient craft.

I started buying glass objects when I was just a little girl, in Trieste, my hometown. [...]»
«From 1991 to the present my work has been a long journey in the company of Serena. Together we have created a splendid collection, hers, and a solid gallery, mine, both alone in dealing with contemporary glass in Italy in those decades. [...]»
